A martyr who, during the darkest years of the 20th century, dedicated all her strength and abilities to the service of God, giving hope to those in need, those who had drifted away from the faith, and those suffering through the horrors of war. She was Mária Magdolna Bódi – or as everyone called her, Magdi – who at the age of 24 gave her life for Christ.
On 29 September, on the closing day of the St. Michael’s Day celebrations, Sister Erika Tornya RSCJ gave a lecture entitled “How would Mary Magdalene Bódi live today?”.

Bódi Mária Magdolna will be beatified in Veszprém on 26 April 2025, after Pope Francis authorised the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints on 23 May to proclaim the recognition of her martyrdom.
